Mapini is a design bathroom furniture firm based in Petra, Mallorca, with a clear commitment to quality, contemporary design and service. Its range covers the bathroom as a whole: furniture, worktops, washbasins and accessories, with a modular flexibility that lets the layout be adjusted to the bathroom that is already there rather than forcing a rebuild. Collections such as Randa and Aleph give the measure of that way of working, contemporary and designed to fit very different spaces. At Gomila Cerámica we chose it for exactly that: for the made-to-measure furniture and for the breadth of worktops, washbasins and accessories with which to resolve a complete bathroom. And because having its base in Petra makes dealings direct and close at hand.

Frequently asked questions

Which materials can I order a Mapini worktop in?
Mapini offers its worktops in resin (acrylic solid surface), lacquered resin in a matt finish, matt or gloss glass, HPL in marble and wood effects, Fenix, natural marble and wood. In natural marble the website lists Carrara, Pietra Grey and Marquina, and in HPL effects such as Olimpo, Onice Venato, Light Grey or Dark Grey. The wood option, according to the manufacturer, is only for use with a countertop washbasin.
Which worktop material stands up best?
According to Mapini, resin is very hard-wearing, easy to repair and withstands most of the chemical products usual in a bathroom. Of HPL it highlights that it resists water, chemical agents and scratching. Of matt glass it notes that it has an anti-fingerprint finish.
Can I choose a colour that is not in the range?
Yes. For lacquered resin worktops and for glass, Mapini states that RAL and NCS colours can be requested, as well as its own range, which includes tones such as black, anthracite, sand, cinnamon or sage.
What are Mapini washbasins made of?
Mapini makes them in three materials. In resin, with a matt finish and the durability of acrylic solid surface; in porcelain, which the manufacturer presents as a highly resistant material; and in gel-coat, minimalist in design and available in matt or gloss. Each material has its own models, so the shape partly determines the material.
Can the mirrors be made to measure and with lighting?
Yes. Mapini has a line of standard mirrors, rectangular or round, with lit and framed versions, and also a made-to-measure line intended for special projects. In the made-to-measure version the manufacturer offers two light colour temperatures. The anti-fog option is available on the standard mirrors as well as on the made-to-measure ones and those with a wooden frame.
How are the units in the Aleph collection built?
Mapini makes the Aleph units in marine plywood, with end-grain edges and thicknesses that, according to the manufacturer, give them presence. The opening systems are by Blum, with high-end fittings to which Mapini attributes smoothness, durability and comfort every time you open them. The collection is inspired by a carpenter's bench turned into a bathroom unit, and the website shows finishes in natural oak, toasted oak and matt white.
